Joe is an elementary and middle school band director in the Quincy Public Schools. Joe studied jazz piano and music education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth receiving his Bachelors Degree in Music Education. He further went on to receive a Masters of Arts Degree in Music Education from Bridgewater State University. Joe lives in Weymouth with his wife and three children and is a passionate father, husband, teacher, coach, and musician. Having met Dan at their kids' music class and Paul when stopping by the music shop to grab guitar strings for a student, the stars have aligned for Joe to play creative, collaborative, and exciting music with two tremendous musicians and friends.
Paul is a professional electric and upright bass player in the South Shore Area. While he honed his skills at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he was introduced to many styles of music with Jazz quickly becoming a passion. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Music and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, he moved back to the Boston area to pursue music full time. As the last member to join the trio, he was instantly taken by Joe and Dan's energy and continues to appreciate the thoughtfulness and musicianship Head Out puts into each arrangement.
Dan worked as a music educator and professional drum set player and percussionist for many years. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Dan focused his time during college and years after playing in various musical settings including orchestral percussion, rock, funk and jazz bands both locally in Massachusetts as well as St Louis, Chicago and Nashville. Having settled back home on the South Shore with his wife and two children, Dan currently works as a project manager at a construction company. Inspired by the playing and musicianship of Joe and Paul, playing in the Head Out jazz piano trio has been an exciting path forward for Dan to pursue his passion for playing music.
